blue legged hermit crabs

Just wanting to know for those of you who have crabs. Are they active during the day or just at night?
Mine seems to be stuck to one particular place on the rock all the time. It does shed once in a while but I thought they were more active.

mine are active all the time, and the only time they switch shells is when thy kill one of my snails for it. mine are on the move night and day.

Mine are active all the time. I've seen them fight for each others shells alot. It's pretty neat to see them out of their shell and waiting for the winner to decide which shell they want to keep. Sometimes mine even climb up my tubing to my backup air pump. This happens night and day.
