Ok im a beginner.
I just bought my first piece of coral which ia blue mushroom coral. I was told to buy phyto-max to feed.
Anything else? Should I keep it close to the lights or closer to the ground?

Mushrooms are very hardy corals. They do not need much light, nor flow. What kind of lighting setup do you have and for what size tank?

You don't have to feed it anything, should spread once it settles in, mushrooms can be a plague, at least the blue ones are nice to look at, I have some ugly red ones all over the darn place.
You can place it anywhere, they usually like lower flow though.
