Blue Mushrooms

Has anyone with Blue Mushrooms had a problem with the "blueish" color fading away? Mine appear to be more of the normal "brownish" color when they fully open. They appear to be doing fine other than the color not being exactly blue.
I have 2 55w 50/50 PC lights on a 46 gal bowfront. The "shrooms" are on the bottom of the tank. I have read where they really do not require strong direct light.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

My blue ones change color from time to time. One day they'll almost be a bright blue, the next almost green, then brown. Don't have clue as to why, just know they change a lot on me. I've noticed too that the color varies with size. Some days the expand more than others and if memory serves they seem bluer on the small days and more brown on the large days. Make any sense?
I'd like to hear other thoughts as well.

i only have one blue mushroom but have similar experience with my green striped shrooms. On days they don't fully expand their color seems deeper and stripes less profound whereas on days they seem fully expanded their color is less dramatic and stripes very profound. On days when their color is less dramatic it almost seems as if the shroom has white stretch marks (not the stripes) running through its color and bleached. Have not figured it out but they always get their color back. As for my single blue metallic same thing happens but not as dramatic.

my blues also vary from vibrant blue to brown and rarely apear the same from one day to another. No idea why but they've been in the tank a year now and are all reproducing so I guess it's just normal behaivior. My Red mushrooms are always bright red though and never seem to change color.
