blue mushroon question

I just got a 24 gal nano and have recently added
2 clowns
a green bubble coral
yellow polyps
blastomussa
a frogspawn
blue mushrooms
My blue mushrooms dont seem to be acclimating to my tank. I put it in the bottom of my tank on the sand, since it requres low light and less water flow. I have the standard power compact lighting with the LED moonlight bulbs. Yet, the individual mushrooms seem to be almost shriveled up and small. In pictures I have seen, blue mushrooms seem to expand in diameter way more than mine do. Any suggestions to why this could be? :help: :help:

good move getting frogspawn, great coral... and as for the mushrooms, i thought that with mine and it took them a week to get fully opened, so I'm assuming they just haven't been in long enough if all the otehr corals look good.

my tank is about 2 weeks old not counting the 3 weeks of cyclying. I counted twenty mushrooms and now there seems to be a lot less then that. I know they replicate fairly quickly but do they also dissapear fast as well? i leave the light on for about 8 hours a day so there shouldnt be a lighting issue especially since it is practically shaded under a liverock.

You have a very new tank. So you might end up loosing a few as you go. But if you can move those mushrooms up higher to the light. I have 1 tube in my hood coralife power-glo 20 watt 18,000k and my mushrooms do quite well. I started out like you with just single mushrooms and they have mulitplied quite nicely.
The moon light will do nothing for them except look nice in the tank. With lights like we have the mushrooms need more of them in order to open up and grow. I would not add anything else to this tank till it has been going for a while, wait and see what makes it and what does not.
Keep an eye out for the other stuff you have in there too. I have a feeling you will be needing to upgrade your lights if you want to keep those other things, but just watch and see. You will know soon enough.
Here are two pics of my mushrooms under the lights I mentioned above.
Good luck....

The 24gal nanocube has about 3watts per gallon. In my opinion, that is enough light to keep mushrooms.
