blue ribbon eel

I was thinking about getting one for my 55 gallon eel tank. I know that they are hard to get eating but they have one at my lfs who they said was eating silversides. Is this the only thing that makes them hard to keep?
Has anyone ever had experience with keeping them?
Info on them?

I have a friend who has 1 blue ribbon and 1 white ribbon and has had them for a few years. Getting it to eat is definitely the hardest part, but they do REQUIRE perfect water quality and no competition to continue feeding. Best kept alone, with their own kind, or with extremely peaceful tankmates like frogfish, anthias, lionfish, etc.
