Blue Sponge should I take it?

My friend has been keeping sw tank for four years. He's offers to give me a blue
Sponge, they do well in his tank. My tank is only three months old. It's a 55 gallon, my test results are 0-0-0 on ammo and trates. Ph 8, cal 460, temp 80F, my lighting is a 260w pc. Anyone have these or know anyting about them?

I have yellow sponge growing in my frag tank and black and yellow growing in my main tank. Good filter feeding from what I hear -- can't hurt if he just wants to give you some. I don't think it requires much light as all of mine started in shaded areas.
