I just bought my first sea hare, it died withing the first 48 hours. I read another post that someone else can't keep them alive either. I have algae (hair and bubble) and need a bit of help! What is would help with algae? I have red and blue leg hermits, snails and emerald crabs....

Can you give us some specifics? Tank size, water parameters, lighting, how long set up, tank inhabitants, etc.
BTW, I just saw some of those sea hares for the first time tonight at a store. Weird.

Our LFS got a bunch of them in, they were really eating the algae up, I didn't like them because they lay eggs everywhere.....and also was worried about if they died would they kill everything in the tanks.
Guess that really doesn't answer your question tho uh?
I am battling hair algae in my 55g. I put in a big clean up crew, plus a LMB and a fox face, which I can then put her in my 150g when she out grows the 55g. Doing lots of water changes and crossing my fingers. I don't have any algae problems in any of my other tanks. So don't really know why this one is doing it to me.
Good Luck.

It is a 75 gallon, it has been up for about 6 months. I know that lighting is great it's an 8 bulb with two white and two blue. All water parameters are fine, but algae is slowing still growing. I am using a cheap-o water filter, I do need to get a better one.

I have a sea hare that won't eat my algae. But, he'll eat algae sheets!!!! Damn things useless in cleaning up the tank, but is still cute.
