Blue Tang Feeding

Hi, I've got a blue tang and I know they're supposed to eat a mixture of greens and flakes. My blue tang has no problem eating the flake food, but he will not touch the green marine algae that I bought for him. Is it bad if there are no greens he eats? Or is there anything else I ought to try? Thanks
