I posted recently about my blue tang being mauled by my emerald crab.
I followed the advice given, set up a hospital tank, bought the maracyn 2, etc., and then could not for anything in this world get that fish out of my display tank. Got to the point that when it even saw me stand up in front of the tank, it would hide.
I did not want to dismantle the entire tank for this fish. Since he was still swimming and eating normally, I had no real choice but to watch and observe. I added some stress coat, and sat back.
While I am not yet comfortable saying it is completely out of the woods, it is actually healing very nicely. The open wounds are almost gone entirely, scales have grown back, and he looks well for the most part. The fin is still gone, but the wounds are almost entirely closed up. But I am also not sure if I should expect that fin to grow back. If not, that is OK, as having it gone is not affecting the fishes mobility in any way.
Just thought I'd give an update. I am actually pretty amazed at the way it is healing so rapidly.
