Hi,
I got a blue tang that wont eat. This is my story. Shortly after getting him he got ich so I put him in the hospital tank and treated him. Was not so surprised he did not eat then but its about 5 days now and still he has not eaten. I've offered many different food types including the red seeweed and green buble caluperia along with frozen (thawed) tang food.... any suggestions? He is quite lathargic just sitting on the bottom and not moving around all that much. If he does not eat soon I think he will not pull thorugh.

My blues have always preferred green over red. Try some green flake food.
It may just be one of those things that sometimes make this hobby a pain. Hope it works out for you.

You might want to try soaking the food prior to feeding in garlic, that always stimulates my guys into a feeding frenzie
Hope he's OK

Try brine shrimp(Live) soaked in selcon and garlic. In addition keep a constant stip of seaweed select or nori on a lettuce clip. I had this siuation with my PB. Ich , treatment and not eating. He started laying down after 5 or 6 days and I was certain he would die. I wouldn't let him give up. I actually cupped him in my hand and guided him around the tank to ensure that water was still flowing through his gills. He miraculously survived and now I've had him 3 plus years and he is very attached. Sometimes when I go away on business and my wife or daughter does the feeding duties he will look unenergetic and eat sparingly. When I'm home he eats like a pig!
As I read this I realize how strange this sounds but that's what happened.
Don't give up hope! The best of luck and I hope this helped.

Are you still treating him? Sometimes fish will go off their feed during treatments. The live brine soaked in vits is a good as is the algae. Ocean Nutrition Seaweed Selects (green) is usually a tang favorite. You may also want to try frozen Mysis. Your live food will probably get the fastest results...don't give up on him and make sure he has great water quality!
Good Luck1

My Kole tang didn't start eating for about 10 days. It started on krill (chopped),brine and mysis shrimp. Now it eats anything I pit into the tank.
