Yas, I know, wrong board for this, but I've been trying to link my phone to my laptop for a week. Technology seems to walk all over me. I have an LG VX8100 and am trying to communicate with my Dell Latitude w/pentium 4 and windows XP. The phone indicates they're paired, but the laptop can't communicate. My phone shows up in the bluetooth devices on my pc but when I try to upload/download it gives me a COM port error and says it can't find the requested files. I bought a different dongle but it wouldn't work either. I broke down and bought the usb cable for my phone and downloaded a driver from the manufacturer. I got no communication whatsoever and couldn't tell from either device that they were connected (no new hardware found bubble). The only place I found online that looked like they could help was a hacker site that looked like a good candidate for government monitoring (cuz they were doing really cool shiznit with their phones, using them for free mobile broadband, etc.) so I was reluctant to spend much time there or ask for help. Can anybody help or send me someone who can? Verizon simply said we don't get int that, we just sell phones and wireless service. All I really want to do is send pics from my phone to my pc to free up phone memory without paying for a PIX message for every single pic.
Thanks
