Bluetooth

Yas, I know, wrong board for this, but I've been trying to link my phone to my laptop for a week. Technology seems to walk all over me. I have an LG VX8100 and am trying to communicate with my Dell Latitude w/pentium 4 and windows XP. The phone indicates they're paired, but the laptop can't communicate. My phone shows up in the bluetooth devices on my pc but when I try to upload/download it gives me a COM port error and says it can't find the requested files. I bought a different dongle but it wouldn't work either. I broke down and bought the usb cable for my phone and downloaded a driver from the manufacturer. I got no communication whatsoever and couldn't tell from either device that they were connected (no new hardware found bubble). The only place I found online that looked like they could help was a hacker site that looked like a good candidate for government monitoring (cuz they were doing really cool shiznit with their phones, using them for free mobile broadband, etc.) so I was reluctant to spend much time there or ask for help. Can anybody help or send me someone who can? Verizon simply said we don't get int that, we just sell phones and wireless service. All I really want to do is send pics from my phone to my pc to free up phone memory without paying for a PIX message for every single pic.

Thanks

Oh yeah, when I did e-mail myself the pics windows was too stupid to open it. Windows could not open this file because it does not know which program created it......Boy I sure miss my MACs.

I just got a new RAZR phone from Motorola. The whole thing is a racket. They want you to download ringtones and files from them so that they can charge you a bunch of money.
The USB on most phones only allow you to use your mobile as a modem...thats it, no file transfers. Bluetooth is the only way to do it. Sorry to hear that you are having problems... especially since I plan to buy a bluetooth card for my pc. How much did yours cost?

$50 after rebate. People are doing it, I just can't get mine to work. Check out www dot cellphonehacks.youknowwhat
These people out-nerd me by 50 to 1
I've unlocked the phone for service access and tried to file transfer using BitPin with no luck.
thanx 4 the post and don't forget to check out that site.

My wife asked me what she'd get if she could make it work. I told her what I was willing to do and she went to work on it. After a couple hours she had come to the conclusion that my bitpin program wasn't able to communicate with the bluetooth device. (it didn't work) I felt a little releived on one hand but still disgusted on the other. That's when she grabbed the usb cable, plugged it in and accessed my phone and its files. So, I have come to the conclusion that MY WIFE ROCKS!!!!!
thanks, Phil
