I posted a while ago about visiting a new store I heard about and it got deleted. Is that against the rules? If it is, sorry I didn't know.

If you post links to other sites, they usually get deleted. Competition and all. :)

Wasn't a link. They don't have a website. I was just talking about a new store I went to which was pretty impressive. I actually learned of it on here so I took a hour and half drive to check it out.

Hmm...well, maybe since SWF is now opening its own store, it's not too keen on other stores being recommended on their Message Board.

I don't know. Isn't the swf fishstore going to be in Florida. This one's in New York but I guess if someone learns of a new LFS in their area from here, they won't order off swf.com. I'll try to be more careful in the future.

I wouldn't worry about it. You had no way of knowing it would be a problem. :)

scoobydoo, try to do a search on this site of the fish store name if you havn't already. You might be able to find it, if it wasnt deleted. But it might have been.

Searched the store and found this from BangGuy:
My favorite is the **** ****** in Rochester and second is *** **** in Batavia.
I *'d out the name just in case I'm not supposed to do that but since he's one of the resident experts I would think its ok. That's how I heard about the store to begin with.
If you violate the rules and they delete your thread you may not know why. I think they should change your subject line to your name and in the message put the reason why it was deleted to you know and won't do it again.

Yeah I didn't think so either. I went to the store you mentioned in Rochester. It was really impressive. The tanks were extremely clean. Fish and corals all seemed very healthy. They had a good selection of fish and corlas. Prices were reasonable. The owner gave me a cooler and heat pack because I had to drive back to Syracuse and didn't charge me for them. I acclimated a sixline and red firefish into QT. They seemed to be doing great and are already eating. I also got a blue linka. Once I get my lights, I could go bankrupt in there!

Its been a week with my new firefish and six-line wrasse in QT. NO signs of disease yet and they are eating well.

i think its kinda silly that they do that at all especially . for instance when i was shopping for lights ( which they dont even carry ) i couldnt post any sites or anything, and we have a section on here where we can buy and sell stuff ??? whats up with that?? just my opinion, i buy pretty much all my stuff from swf.com, as far as live stuff anyway, i shop around for other stuff. and im not gripeing, i just think its different. Todd ( hope that doesnt offend anyone, it wasnt intended to. )

Jedi and Will,
I went to the Reef Shoppe in Rochester on East Ridge Road. (I don't think this is against the rules but I'm not sure why the last post was deleted). My email's at work. Email me on Monday at cputman@woodsmithlaw.com though I probably won't be back in Rochester now until the end of April because of the drive time and weather conditions. I can't wait to get my lights and go back to the reef to get my corals.

Scooby,
Yup Tom is a cool guy over there at the Reef Shoppe. Just picked up a couple new softies and they are all doing great. If you ever come back in town, drop me a line. I have a couple more here that have the same "setting" as that, and I get alot from them we could meet and have a cup of Java.
Always looking for new fish friends.
Jedi

Will do Jedi. Not sure who I talked to when I was there. Younger kid but seemed to know what he was talking about. He asked if I needed help when I first walked in and I said I was just looking. He left me alone and didn't rush me or bug me to buy things. I took my time and when I was ready, he was really helpful. I can't wait to go back.

Jedi, another question, when you buy fish from the Reef Shoppe do you QT? I've had mine in QT for 8 days now with no sign of disease and I'm trying to be patient but.....
