Bought t5's

well, i finally got the ok from the wifey to buy new lights!!

i went with aquactinic's TX5 48" light setup with a decent array of blues/daylight bulbs.
i got them 5% off plus free shipping from an online store that is having a turkey day special

You will not be sorry with the TX5. Great fixture and great company. I'm running it on my 55 and it's a lot of light.

I don't suggest the Pro Colors to Newbes to T5's because they have quite a bit of red and some don't like the look. The Aquasun has less red so you are more likely to have a look you like.

Like 19 splits going back to 2006. Probably 30 splits overall. What's really sad is I didn't even start the thing

for crying out loud, i got the bulbs today and no light setup... called the place and was told oh we don't have control over the light setup shipping since it goes direct from the manufacturer... gah, aquactinics is 25 mins away... i've sent them an email to see if i can go pick it up LOL

i called on the fixture and they don't know when i'll see it cause it's coming from the MFR

I thought the same thing when I opened my box. They do pack a punch though.

u wont be dissapointed with the power and distrabution of t5s. the uvl aqua sun will really light the tank. i have 6 bulb retro on my 40 frag and i run a uvl aqua sun and a ati blue plus that only run for 4.5 hours in the middle of the day to keep up growth. than during my usual viewing time i have 2 ati blue plus and 2 uvl super actinics running. they also run for a couple hours before the aqua sun.

i asked, but got no response. i bought them online and got free shipping, so i guess it doesn't matter if i pick them up or not. i'd only be afraid of UPS messing them up

i'm quite disappointed with the legs they sell for almost $30... i coulda bent some flimsy steel much better if i had known that's all they were doing.
