bow front

Hi
I was looking into buying a new tank, but the tank I want to get is a 28 gallon bow front. I have a 96 watt light and I was wanting to know, If I sit my 96 watt light on top of that will it melt the plastic peice that is in the middle, because their will be glass on top of it.

It will not melt. I have a 36 gallon bow with 130 watt light and the center plastic brace and it does fine. It is designed to hold.

no it def will not melt...i sit my 260 watt right on top of the plastic spacers on top of my 155 and it doesn't even fade it..
