boy/girl fishy

It depends on the type of fish, their age, --- ratio in the wild population, and probably all sorts of other things.
In short, it is not often easy to determine. Sometimes there are color differences, size differences, etc...but other times, or if they are immature, it is tough to tell.

which fish is it that...if you have two of the same ---, one turns into a girl or boy, or something like that???? clown? I read it somewhere........these stupid brain farts.........., serious about this though, I am.:yes:

yep, clowns, juvi's are all boys, the largest one will turn female and the other ones will stay male. If the largest one (female) dies, the next largest one will turn female.

It happens in a number of other fish as well - large wrasses and parrotfish come to mind.
