I am very new at keeping corals (fish only for many years). I have a 4 inch brain coral placed high in the tank under 250 watt MH bulbs/actinic/lunars at night. I receives moderate flow. Tank parameters good---T 80.1, sp grav 1.023, nitrate 0, pH 8.3, calcium 450. The only abnormal is phos which is reading high. I just purchased a phosban filter and will start using today. The coral is developing a black spot in the center. What should I do? My candy cane coral and mushrooms are doing fine. Any advice is appreciated!

it is a green closed brain. Are phos levels toxic to corals?
