Brain Coral Help

My green brain has been closed up for 2 days. Yesterday the thing was hard like a rock so I thought it was dead. Today its soft again but still not open. Is this something brains do sometimes or is there cause for worry? I only have a test kit for PH,Ammonia,Nitrite, and Nitrate, according to color charts on the cards everything is in the normal range. Nitrates are a little elevated but even at LFS they said its not high enough for concern. Which is another good question will start another thread on that now.

I had a similar problem a year ago. It turned out that one of my fish was nipping it.
Try placing it out of the way...in a corner or something... and watch from across the room to see if a fish is paying attention to it.
I had to move mine to my refugium.
