Brain Coral Split

I've got a red open brain coral that is in the process of splitting. The top is pretty much separated, but their still attached to the same hard base. Does anyone know how to separate them so I can put them in different parts of the tank?

You are sure they are splitting into two, right? You are sure that the brain is not becoming separated from its base because it is not precipitating CaCO3 to keep up with its tissue growth, right? If no to the latter, your strontium may be too low. But if it is true splitting, then I offer you my congratulations only, because I really can't answer your question.
:D
cheers,
