My GF just bought/ entered into the saltwater addiction. Already we replaced the (p.o.s) pump. I couldnt believe how bad that thing sucked, we replaced it with a mini jet 606. She has 10 lb rock, 5 hermits, and 1 purple psuedo, 10lbs of live sand, and natural ocean water. She put her fish in the next day and he is doing OUTSTANDING!! (wish my tank was small enough to use natural sea water...to expensive).
OH and ONE MORE THING...she got a hitch hiker guess what it was, she's friggin lucky, how could the guy at the lfs not see that thing (sea cucumber)

I am looking at getting a 12G Nano Cube.. What are your thoughts of the lights / filter. How did you replace it? Can you give back shots? Thanks..
The stock filter I belive does 9 cycles per hour.

imo i love the idea that its all in 1 setup. like i said before the pump is a pos, but u can change it out np. i love how u dont have anything hanging off the back (clean appearance). the lighting system i believe is good 4wpg. but u can do upgrades if u want. i think they make it very easy 2 change parts out as well

the long piece is a sea cucumber (hitchiker) and in the bag is a purple pseudo. I got him the day after setting up the nano. i used live sand/ water from my other tank. I have since added my new electric blue hermit :D everything is doing great

I have a 12g nanocube dx and the fitration setup isn't the best but can be made better with a few simple mods. The stock return pump isn't the greatest and only runs 106gph so I added a mini-jet 606 which pumps around 80 gph on low, 160 gph on high and set it on high, and put the stock pump in the tank as a PH, also I would order the skimmer mod from Jacksdad or make the DIY casette tape one as the stock intake doesn't allow for any surface skimming unless you keep your water level below the top of the glass, which isn't very attractive. Lighting is pretty good, has 2x48 W PC's which is 4 W/gallon, if you want high light corals though I would update the lighting. All in all it's a pretty good system though, I 'd buy one again in a heartbeat. Mine houses, 20 lbs LS, 12lbs LR, 2 false percs, 2 peppermint shrimp, 5 turbo snails, 1 mexican turbo, 1 colony GSP and one green plate coral. Sorry I don't have any pics yet, it's only been done cycling for 2 months. Hope this helps. :joy:
