I just bought a Mag 5 to power my Aqaua Remora C protein skimmer...
I had a hard time finding a plastic fitting for the exhaust of the pump.. the only thing i could find is a brass fitting. Is that going to be ok?

No, I would not use a brass fitting in a saltwater tank. It may leech copper into the tank over time.

Go to Lowes and ask for either a 1/2"pvc male adapter or a 1/2" male hose barb, depending whether you are running pvc or hose.

you helped me out with a copper problem a few months back. my loss of some corals and all my inverts was due to brass fittings in the sump. BRASS IS BAD!!

A lot of what I have read, is contrary to the above posts. If brass and or bronze is used, it is considered harmless as leaching should not occur at the Ph levels a saltwater tank is kept at. If the ph was allowed to drop into the region of the ph range that it wold cause leaching, the metal itself would not be the real problem anyhow and odds are most critters would already be toast. I still do not use any metals except for some stainless and titanium items.
