Reidi are one of the hardest, but I dont know where you read to only keep a few.
They require rotifers and green water along this a fry tank.
I have never raised them but have read a lot about them

I have tried numerous times with Reidi. Unfortunately I was just never able to get the fry to survive very long. As fry rearing is very labor-intensive (and costly), I gave up on the palegic fry (ie: Reidi and northern Erectus) and now concentrate on the Southern Erectus and dwarfs.
As Teresa mentioned, Reidi fry need rotifers as their first food. You will need to start rotifer culture tanks (minimum of 2 in case one crashes) as well as live algae cultures. Due to their feeding requirements and palegic nature, Reidi fry require much more of a time/money investment than I care to spend again at the moment.
On a side note, you may have misinterpreted something you read. When one has limited time/money/experience it is best to concentrate your fry rearing effort on only the strongest fry. Not randomly scooping out just a few after birth, but rather after a few days, those that are swimming strongly, eating well, etc should be the ones all your efforts are directed at. The remaining weak swimmers, those floating at the top, laying on the bottom, not eating well, etc should be culled. Especially with large broods of fry, you could end up losing them all by trying to save them all. With smaller broods, or after culling, your success improves as all your time and effort is concentrated on the dozen or two strongest of the fry.

is it that you want to try your hand at breeding or that you want to get another and dont want the babies to die. if you just want to add another horse, just get another of the same ---. that way you wont have babies.

Hi , As others have mentioned , maybe get another of the same s*x, so no babies.I have had no success in raising reidies , only very limited success in h.northern erectus [ as in 3 raised to adulthood , and yes it was expensive buying rotifers]and my best success has been dwarves....just relax and enjoy your horse, as you gain experience maybe then try your hand at breeding? They really are harder than newborns
And I have 5 kids...hehe....But If your really serious about getting rid of your reidi and switching to erectus I'll take her/him [ let me know how much]....I have a cycled 10g qt to worm etc and you know your horse will go to a good home.

ya for right now i think ill do wat u said by just playin it through and c how it goes since its my first horse

but so far shes doin great and is still very happy havent seen anything wrong ! yet lol
