He had to leave the apprentice for an appendix operation I think. I wonder if this is related.

Could be related to hard partying in his youth. Cocaine abuse can cause this. Not sure if he was ever into that but I know a couple of his band mates were.

Yeah not many can live the rock -n- roll lifestyle without any side effects. One could only guess what he's been through.

Maybe one of the probably many experimental products Brett uses to fight the massive recession going on under his bandanna, caused it?
Seriously though, in the world of reality TV, Brett is one of the 'good guys' I don't mind in the least been on. Hope he gets better soon.

This guy has had medical issues since he was a kid, so no surprise here. But yes, this is one of the good guys of rock.....

Good to hear he is talking.
Way back when a guy I knew had a custom guitar built that was used on Poison's album. The guy who built it was trying to get a deal with them and this guitar was one he showed them. They already had a deal with someone but told the guy they would use this one on some tracks to help him out with a blurb on the liner notes. I don't know if it was Michaels or CC who made the call but I am sure he could have vetoed it if he wanted to.

I hope he does better....if not for the simple fact I do not want to hear a plethora of poison/bret michaels songs on the radio for the next month.

a friend of mines husband had this. It is not good. There are a bajillion vessels at the base of the brain and it is almost impossible to see/determine which one/ones are the bleeders. I would be shocked to hear that he is "talking" to friends and family or whatever the report is. My friends husband did not say a thing for days and even then it was not clear. Kim's condition was determined to be congenital and no known cause except that. After many months of ups and downs he did pass away. Hopefully Bretts is different, but most brain conditions are tricky at best. I know everyone is different and his could be different from Kim's , but like I said I did learn that all those vessels are very vital to the brain and brain stem and bleeders are tough to stop.

I read the story about Brett Michael's to my wife this morning (ICU Nurse), and she said, "Brain stem bleed? If he's not dead, he probably will be soon. I'ver rarely seen anyone with internal bleeding of the brain stem to survive. If they do, it'll either be in a coma, or some sort of paralysis." To my knowledge, they haven't reported exactly what the extent of his injuries are, so only time will tell. My wife has been watching The Apprentice with him on it, and as of last week, the show still had him on. I know they've already taped most of the episodes, but I believe the finale will be live. Be interesting to see what they say on the show tomorrow evening.

Poor guy ... he has already defied the odds and now is back in the hospital due to a warning stroke. They also found a hole in his heart. Just saying ...

At this point the guy just needs to forget the career and get healthy. With his health luck you'd think he was in Lynard Skynard.

Yeah, i read that last night. He needs to really stop and enjoy life now. He has the money and fame. Just stop everything (concerts, shows, etc..) He needs to let his body relax for a while. I don't think he has a choice now. IMO

We probably don't get his drive and will to continue to play because most of us don't have a career that's the #1 passion in life. His career is so woven around his life, his soul and who is is so that there's almost no way out. If he has to give it up and doesn't want to give it up.... he may never be happy again. If he can find strength in his family... good for him.
I bet his has a hard time with this and finds his strength elsewhere....
He has remained a nice looking guy, hasn't he? Alot of those bands from that time look HARD now-a-days.

First time I will agree with your opinion.....except I agree just so I don't accidentally see his hair plugged, bandanna sportin mug on tv anymore.

At this point taking a year or two off to get healthy isn't going to affect his career. Most of his fans or the 40 something women who still think (and dress, ewwwww) like they are 18.

Seriously though the guy isnt going to lose anything by taking time off. His friends and family just need to tie him down and make him relax.
