Has anyone ever had any success with a bridled burrfish? If so how did you get it to eat? If not tell me now so I don't make a mistake by getting something that won't eat and just fade away.

My daughter had one that ate great from the minute she brought him home. He ate krill at the LFS, so she took a chance with him. He was only $20.00 and thought that not too big of a risk. "Willbur" was her pride and joy until she introduced a tang to the tank without quaranteening it first. It broke out in "ick" and so did Willbur. Willbur did not survive the copper treatment the tang did. So, you can get lucky and get one that eats well, but just remember they are very prone to ick and don't do well in copper. Also look for one who's tummy is not concave or sunken in.........and is eating at the LFS. Here's a pic of "Willburr" Good luck!

The fish I saw at the lfs is from the waters just off the coast of Florida were I live some one caught it and brought it to the fish store. My tank is big and the specimine is vey large as well. It came to the front of the tank as soon as I got there. when I saw it it had only been there a day and it wouldn't eat. Hoping it will be eating in a day or two.

Cool looking fish.. Looks like a porcupine puffer.. Is it in the same basic family of aggresive fish??

Yes, I believe it is in the same family as the porcupine.......the little burrs are always out and never lay flat against the body. They have the prettiest blue eyes:) They don't get as big as the porks either.......

The one I have on hold at the lfs is about ten inches long. It is huge and but all the information I have on them is that they don't eat. I went to the store tonight and tryed to feed it live, and frozen.
