I'm thinking about raising brain shrimp I was looking at this San Francisco Bay Brand Hatchery kit. Has anyone used this kit? Show me some pictures of your kits. Or what you use to raise brain shrimp.

There is a KC / Topeka forum where they several people have made their own....they had this huge Frag Swap meet and greet where one of the events was how to make them...try looking them up....
I saw one, and all it seemed to be was a 2 liter coke bottle, an air pump, and.....can't recall the rest...but very very very simple to make...I just didn't really pay attention when I saw it. Someone even made it out of those plasic CD storage cases (where you buy lie 100 blank CD's).....

Ya that's all it is. A container and an air pump. I'd get a 2 liter coke bottle and cut off the top where the lid is, stick an air line tubing in, and buy some of the brine shrimp packs from San Frinsco Bay Brand or wherever. If you wanted to do a big one, get a 5g or 10g and hook up air pumps and you can do it on a large scale.

you can make that yourself, 2 2 liters...one has the top off and then the other with the bottom cut of and turned upside down in the first one with and air pump....the main thing for hatcheries is moving the eggs completely at all times and light....using something square or bigger where eggs can sit without moving much will not have a very good hatch rate...thats what make hatcheries that are more of ac one shaped good because the eggs cant really sit(if you put the airline at the bottom. don't use those little packets shown either...the hatch rate is terrible...go to another website and buy something that has 90% hatch rate at least...seahorsesource has good ones that are already decapped.

(lighting because they hatch better in warmer water...and the shrimp are attracted to light so it helps seperate them from all the junk they hatch out of etc.)
