everybody usually fails with raising brine. Save you patience and just continue buying it in your lfs

Are you trying to grow them, or hatch them? Generally to make it worth your while, growing them takes a very large container, similiar to a wading pool, or old bath tub. If your hatching them, that's a different story.

I never waist my money on brine shrimp anymore. They just are not worth the money to feed the fish and fowl the tank. The nutritinal value of frozen is terrible, live is better of course but still a pain in the rump, messy just not worth it. Also the frozen polute the water with phosphates, aluminum that I just do not want in my tank.
For those of you who do use the frozen be sure to soak them in selcon or some other vitamin suppliment before use to help give them more nutritinal value.
Mysis shrimp is a much better choice.
Just my 2 cents worth

Thomas is that live or frozen mysis shrimp. How common is it for LFS to sell live mysis shrimp. Mine only sells live brine.

uthscsa19 - sorry it took so long to get back to you. When I say that mysis shrimp is better that would mean either frozen or live. I have never seen the live version at any lfs. Somewhere I have some of the data available on the nutritional values of food that we feed our fish, I'll look for it.

Should be available with all other frozen food at your lfs, as to the live variety I do not know. Still looking for those articles.
