bristle worms

There are several families that will tend to help with controlling populations of worms.
Big however, here:
When you have a fish that can eat a bristle worm, chances are good that they come with their own set of issues.
What size is your tank and what fish do you have now? What corals?

bristle worms are good for you tank. they are ditritus eaters. however, you may find them unsightly. if you don't like them, you can either cut down on your feeding, or even buy an arrowhead crab.

An overabundance of them may mean you are overfeeding/have excess nutrients. A yellow corris wrasse, green corris wrasse, or melanurus wrasse will eat them and stay fairly small.

Not the corris, maybe the melanurus. You could try an arrow crab, but it is a crab and can also eat other things you don't want it to.Nothing will eat large ones, only small. Back off on feeding, syphon the ones you see when they come out, their numbers will dwindle. They are actually good for your tank as mentioned, but not when they overrun it. I don't like the ones that come waltzing out in the daytime that are thick as pencils..I take those out.

There is one species that I've read about that consumes corals.
Also avoid touching them as some (fireworms) can produce a painful senstation.
I'll throw my hat into the ring with the other posters... Bristle Worms are a good indicator species. If you are seeing a bunch of them then there is an issue that needs to be addressed.
