Brittle and Peppermint

Okay, so i just bought a peppermint today and it was hiding by my brittle. It then cornered the peppermint with all its legs and went in for the kill. A couple seconds later and he would have been a goner. I thought they were omnivores. Has anyone had this experience or know what might be the deal with my brittle??
Thanks.

What color brittle? Green/olive?
Definitely not an isolated incident. Refresh yourself on the definition of 'omnivore' as well
.

Yeah, I've seen the "green death" for sale many times and it's usually a higher price than a brown brittle star.
The brown brittle stars are absolutely wonderful to have in a tank... serpent stars as well...
I've had a green brittle that didn't bother anything, but I fed him daily.
