brittle star HELPPPPP!!!

my brittle star seems to be pulling out his insides and I don't know why...a big bunch of orange-reddish thread looking material and clear intestinal material are being pulled out...why is this...if it tried to eat an urchin, would this cause this????all of you comments are appreciated...

Actually I think that's okay. It's their way of getting rid of their waste. Similiar to corals purging. They have to use the commode onnce in awhile too.

I've seen stars push their gills out if there is a lot of ammonia or nitrite in the water but if its not their gills I don't know. You may cosider checking your NH4 & NO2. HTH

Yea I didn't think of that. I forgot some stars waste looks like that. Thats more likly what it is.
