Brittle star question

You know instead of posting one question at a time... I should save them all up and post one BIG post!
Anyway.....question is this-
Live rock has at least 2 brittle stars inside probably more cause I see like 3 different size legs in different parts of the this rock.
Do they or can they get out of the rock? I know most people just see the legs at feeding time. Surely if they cant come out of the rock, they're gonna die inside it from having no room to grow if I keep feeding them. They snag a piece of mysis shrimp and pull it inside until next time.
Makes me want to break the rock and free them! I wanna play!!!!

The room last night was dark and I turned on the light and they were all over my glass. I never knew I had that many.

Its likely that you have two small hitch hiking brittlestars, and they will not get larger.
But yes, they can get out if then need to, they are happy and "normal" in there.

I have a brittle star and he moves all over my tank. He stays in the same place for a while then moves to a different rock some times he stays in the same rock for a week before he moves and sometimes he climbs up my glass which is so cool. I think your star is fine as long as they are eating they are fine eventually they will move to a new area of the tank.
