Brittle Starfish.

Just noticed a piece of my brittle starfish tentacle broke off...Is this common?

That is one way of how they reproduce, just dropping a leg.

my red brittle did that but the curly Q got a hold of the broke off part before anything could happen but who knows, there might be a piece in the rock somewhere, i will just have to wait it out!!
