Question.
Have any body used broccoli to fed yellow tanks? I have until know used only lettuce or dry alge but some body told me that broccoli can be use.
Any advise on this?

Sure have, and they love the stuff. I use frozen broccoli rinsed in tank water to dethaw. It only takes a minute or two to dethaw, I can refreeze the broccoli, and use it later. I only use this as a treat though. I got this idea from someone else on the forums actually.

I've had good luck with broccoli, and use it often. I use a large variety of greens. I also got tired of using that cheap-charlie lettuce clip and now I just grab a handful of greens and rubber band it to the mag float. I notice the sea urchins like the broccoli as much as the tangs.

funny how things change. I posted at one time about feeding greens and broccoli and was jumped all over because it wasn't
'natural' for them, like, from the ocean. Guess it depends on who's asking and who's answering.

it isnt natural for them and they have a hard time digesting it properly and expend more energy on metabolism than they need to.... the same way a tang in a tank too small uses up too much energy turning all of the time as it swims back and forth
--hows that for getting jumped all over :)
that being said.. broccoli and spinach are about the best terrestrial veggies for them. but you wanna make it easier for them to eat... so just barely boil them a little... dont cook the vitamins out... just make it a little softer for them
or... just get some nori in the asian aisle of your local market.

yeah... forget it... i have no idea what i am talking about with the softening of the broccoli
its taken me weeks to get some fish to feed on certain prepared foods including getting tangs to eat nori (which is what you should be feeding them anyways)
