Broken Aquapod Filter, please help.

Well I bought an aquapod off of ---- and UPS destroyed all of the glass. I am in the midst of trying to get a refund and UPS has contacted me so now it's just a waiting game.
Anyways, I don't have a pic but I tore off the filter and air pump from the back of the glass. I have to do a little sanding before putting it into a tank to smooth the edges a bit, but other than that it has 3 spots where it's missing some glass.
But to my question, if I glue or something a few pieces of plastic form Home Hardware or somerthing would the iflter be working perfectly? As in would a little leak from the filter affect the flow and/or contaminate the already treated water?
Please ask if you don't get what I mean. Thanks.

I kinda understand, my biggest question is why keep the filter (which im assuming you mean the back chambers)? Do you plan on putting this inside a regular glass tank? Do you plan on getting another Aquapod?
Anyways, you will probably be okay if the leak is small. You want enough suction to go through the top surface skimmer. If you plan to glue anything, use aquarium silicone, its safe for your water.
Maybe if you could explain a little more what you plan to do will help us out. any pics? sorry your tank arrived busted, aquapods are notorious for busting in the mail.

Yah I guess UPS broke it sent it back to the guy who shipepd it and he shipped it back out? There wasn't even any fragile stickers on it when I got it, and I've been talking to UPS about a refund.
Anyways I went out and bought a 10 gallon tank and am planning to add it into that. I am probably going to try and get some suction cups on it so it can be more filled with water.
Is aquarium silicone the type of glue they use to get the sides of aquariums together? There is black glue stuff on the filter, is that the silicone?
I'll look up more into the silicone, that probably will be what I need.
Do you think its worth it to try and get this filter going or should I get another one?
I have a Hydor powerhead on it too, which is why I want to use it, is there any way I can take the pump and powerhead out of the filter?

Ok I found this: http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/s...t_ID=mc-sil03c

Yes, aquarium silicon is exactly the stuff they use to glue glass together in a tank. That black stuff in the back is silicone as well. The link you posted (which you might want to erase because this site doesnt like links to competitor sites) is exactly what you would need. I bought mine at home depot for $4.
I can see what you are planning to do, it might work, but it might just be a big hassle and will probably look awkward. Not trying to steer you away from your DIY project, but if it were my choice, I would just get another aquapod.
Yes, you should be able to take the powerhead out of the back. I took the original pump out i had in mine and replaced it with a different model.

Ok thanlks, I took the link out. I don't think I'll do this, but to keep the power head would I have to put the pump like at the bottom of the tank?
I would rather buy another filter, but I don't want to have to buy a filter and power head as I'm extremely low on money. That also rules out another aquapod unfortunately. If I get a refund maybe, but I don't want to risk another shipping disaster again.

Ok I took out the pump and it works perfect, so I think I'm just going to get another filter. Would a power filter work fine or should I look into something else?
Money is low remember so 30-40 is what I'm planning to spend. It's a 10 gallon aquarium btw.
Also I can't seem to get the Hydor Koralia part onto the power head. Does it connect directly to it?

As for another filter, check some of the other threads of here of peoples DIY nanos, that should give you some ideas.
And by korailia part, are you talking about the directional flow part? we need pics!
