brown algae in HOB fuge

I set up a HOB fuge for my 55g about 2 weeks ago. Have LS and chaeto. I've been running the lights about 12+ hrs a day and can see some chaeto growth and a healthy number of copepods.
I've also got tons of brown algae, and since it's a HOB, you can see it if you look at the tank from the side. I was wondering, should I add any inverts to the fuge? I'm getting a little more algae growth in my DT also, but my levels are good (pH 8.2, nitrIte and trAtes at 0, SG 1.024 and about 78-79*).
Would a snail or 2 in the fuge help clean the glass and keep some of the algae in check? Or do I need to learn to live with it?
