Actually that looks more like Cyno bacteria. Usually a sign of poor water quality. What are your flow rates?

hey RAZOR i think u can help me! IM startinmg to thing i do have poor warer quality.
I have a 60 gal setup with a aquac remora skimmer HOB,
My XP3 RENA can filter which i hate cuz of bubbles that shoot out of the return nozzle so i turned the flow rate nozzle so bubbles dont shoot out as much but that decreased the rate of water flow, and i have 1 MJ900 PH?
flow rate from can filter is 350 but mine is less than that cuz i have the flow nozzle turned blocking some flow of water so i dont get bubbles and the 1 PH at 230 GPH's
should i get rid of can filter and go sump, will that make a difference on water quality? or would adding another PH make a difference? i just hate having PH's everywhere...
whats the best way for me RAZOR cuz ive seen your tank and its an awesome setup???

Roggy I have had really good success with a refugium. I have almost zero unwanted algae growing in my display tanks since I started using one.
When I had the outbreak of Cyno I did several things.
Each day Cyno seemed to grow in the same locations so i would suction out the new growth and point a PH in the direction the cyno was growing allowing maximum flow to the area.
I also removed all my equipment in the display tank and cleaned it with RO water once a week.
I scrubbed the Cyno off the LR with a toothbrush while it was still in the display tank.. I did not remove the LR out of the tank
I did this on my water change day.
Each week I would do a 20% water change.
After about three weeks I had no hair algea or cyno bacteria in my display tank.
I remember the battle was not fun but I did win!
