Brown Algae

I am getting a heap of brown algae on my class which is restricting viewing. How can I control it. My lights are on for 10hrs aday and i have some snails ( cone shells and black with the white spot)

Decrease your lighting to like 65 hours for a while. If your using tap water this could have caused it. I see from another post you just added ls, this could have caused a small cycle. This is my guess as I am still new but have gone through this stage. There are others such as Dogstar that have big time experience and knowledge that will help you.
