Brown Algae

Lately I have a lot of brown algae on my sand and on my glass. My tank has been running for over a year, everything checks out fine, water parameters, water flow, etc. Any suggestions on what might be happening and what I can do about it. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thinking:

Phosphates are usually the culprit. If you have fish in the tank, cut back on their food. You could also try some sort of phosphate absorbant in the filter, but my success with those has been spotty at best. You could also try running the lights a bit less. Do you have much of a cleaner crew in the tank?
