Brown bug in my tank

Ugg, so I flipped the actinics on and saw some sort of a bug cruising accross my LR and up into a big gnarly rock.
It's was about the size of a huge ladybug and shaped the same way. I only got a brief glimpse of him.
I look in my tank almost every night with red lights and stuff and have never seen one of these before.
It was brown in color with a rounded back and 6-8 legs if i had to guess. Moved very fast.
Any ideas?

You are the man. I'd say that is probably exactly what it was.
are they good like other pods? this guy was far too big for any of my fish to eat.

It's really hard to say if it's good or bad. Some isopods are parasites on fish but some aren't. I guess all you can do is keep an eye on the tank!

if it's brown and C-shaped, it's most likely a Gammarid amphipod.
