i had bad case of brown algae/diatoms. have pics here showing how bad. first pic was on 8-10-05 and go thru last pic today. i got rid of it by using ALGONE and PHOS-ZORB. so far my tank is about normal but still some dusting of diatoms. i have a 55 gallon sw tank with 2 brittle star 1 tang a few damsels, banded shrimp a couple of crabe and 8 assorted turbo/mexican snails. i use 2 penguin 330's with bio wheels and a fluval 404 canister filter. have 2 power heads working the bottom and fluval return is near middle to bottom. my tank is not as clear as i want it and if anyone has any suggestions please help. if you look at front it looks clear but from side it looks murky.have about 20lbs of rock and adding as i can with sand bed. here are some pics to show how bad and better
