Brown Slimey Algae, Help

I have a problem with some brown slimy algae growing on my sand pretty thick. I had a cyano problem that i got taken care of a few weeks ago and now I have this brown stuff in its place. To rid the tank of the cyano I used a freshwater maracyn tablet crushed up which removed the cyano in a day. After that, I changed about 40 gallons of water over the next week (out of 125 tank) and added carbon for a week to remove any remaining medication until my skimmer stopped bubbling out of control. Everything was good for a week or so after that but hve this brown stuff for about the pat week. After searching some other posts, I cant determine if it is diatoms or a brown form of cyano. In some areas of the sand, it is just a dusting, but in others, it is more thick and kind of stringy/slimey. I don't use ro or di and have no access to any. Is this my problem? It never did this in the past, and my tank has been set up for about 2-1/2 years. I got 3 1" queen conchs this weekend hoping that this would also help, but they really haven't moved much. Probably still acclimating to the tank i guess. I only feed my fish once every other day or so and my water tests fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. my lighting is 330 watts of PC. I have a skimmer with a wet/dry/fuge. I have a turnover rate of about 10 times per hour.
