brown stuff growi.g in my tank

what is the brown stuffgrowing in my tank, on the rocks the sand and glass. what do I need to do to get rid of it

Sounds like a nasty algea. Bad water quality. Cyano is red, or I'd say thats what it is. You could syphon it out. But if you don't clear up the water quality, its coming right back.

new tank? end of the cycle? = diatoms. Don't do anything, just do the usual maintenance you would do and it will eat it's self right out of your tank. it will grow thick and then just dissapear.

It is a new tank with fish in it, It is not fuzzy.

It's diatoms, it will go away on its own, but there are certain snails that will help clean it up.

Hermits love brown algae. They are snail eaters so some folks don't like hermits.
