Brown Things In Sump

Hello there are some small brown things growing in my sump. They are on the water return side below the bio-balls
Any idea what this is

do they look like tiny shrimps?

they do not remind me if any shrimp I ever seen.

Could be any of a large number of things. Possible to get a detailed description or maybe even a pic?
