Can a BTA eat a hermit crab? I believe one of my hermit crab fell into the BTA. Yesterday when I got home I saw my BTA's mouth was fully opened and a big hermit of the size of a golf ball completely covered in a clear sticky substance. Is it possible that the hermit fell into the BTA and some how he escaped? :help: :help: :help:

Oh my gosh...what about the shell? My flower tried to eat part of a mangrove root...I tried pulling it out but he just grabbed on my fingers. I watched him for a few hours and he was determined to stuff it in there...I finally gave up watching and the next morning it was laying underneath him. But if your BTA stung him he's probably a gonner..no? My hermits climb all over my anemones and the emerald crab is always molesting my flower, he just closes up and waits for him to get done with the rock and be on his way. Well I hope he got away and into another shell..poor guy.

His feet and claws were covered with that substance mixed with sand!!! He couldn't move anymore so I decided to clean him out.
But last night he looked ok.
