Ok, guys what do you do when your BTA that you just put in finds a hole in the rock and crawls in it? My BTA I got yesterday found a hole in the middle of the rock and is now inside the rock and not comming out. Is this bad or alright?

The whole BTA
I placed the BTA on the very top rock. It stayed there from 3 PM to 10 AM next morning. My wife told me it disappeared, so I looked all over the tank. I finally saw a piece of it onthe underside of the rock. I turned the rock over and it has like a hollow center and that is where the BTA has been.

ack!
i guess you could always do the powerhead pointed directly at it trick to get it to move. i lost a bta somewhere in my tank but it finally came back out when i turned my lights off to kill my cyano.

I guess I will give it one day and then take a PowerHead and see if I can force it out.
UNLESS ANYONE ELSE HAS SOME ADVISE?

Got home this morning and guess who is out of the rock
:cheer:
He is on the bottom side of the rock but he/she is at least out of the rock. I will post some pictures later, AFTER I GET SOME SLEEP.

let him be. he will eventually move to where he wants to anyway. when i bought mine a month ago, the onlything it could do was move, sticking to my liverock. hiding at the lowest depth, and in the back, making it hard to reach. he didn't even have any tentacles or buds. he looked like one of those candy saltwater taffees, or a shrunken tree stump. and it would only eat every 2 or 3 days. i had to hold the food in my fingers, up onto it's mouth to eat. it has grown larger, now has several budding tentacles about 1/4 to 1/2 inches in length, and is moving slowly up the liverock, towards the brightest area in the tank, and is improving daily. yes, i am still hand feeding small pieces of shrimp almost daily now. he doesn't look all those bta i see in the pics, but he's getting there. also, if there are any shrimp in the tank, feed them a portion of the food FIRST! or else they WILL end up with the morsel. my 3 camelbacks had to go. they contiuously walked on the bta so that it could never open up. and my scarlet cleaner will open-up my bta and physically pull the morsel OUt, if he's missed. actually tearing the meal from the inside of the bta. good luck, and just let it have time, you'll be glad you did. :cheer:

No powerheads! Leave the anemone alone. They do that to feel safe. It probably didn't feel safe where you put it. It will come out when it is fully acclimated to its new house.

I am going to leave the BTA alone to see what or where it will go. I just never thought that it would come out of the hollow rock, FREAKED ME OUT.

Yeah, mine did the same thing. Bought him yesterday and my clown abandoned the smaller LTA anenome and took to the huge BTA i got, then i went into the rocks. Poor GSM trying to get his fix of the anenome that is barely visible, but you know where they are, just look for the clown.... Sadly though, my percs don't take to the abandoned LTA... Yea, leave him alone. and a FYI. Earlier in my anenome experience i handled them all the time trying to get him in the best light location with cuts on my hand... Spent a few days in the ER due to FULL BODY RASH!

its funny, i have handled my bta's, and bumped up against some rock anenomes and haven't gotten stung once. i've evern touched the bta's tentacles to try to get it to close up while getting it out of the bag. guessing im immune huh?

No, doubt it. I handled mine a whole lot too for months and months and never bothered me..... Then i got a gash on my hand (open wound) and THEN i handled the anenome and i got a whole body rash 12 hours later, go to the ER type. Be careful if you have large cuts on your hand. Nematocysts can't penetrate human flesh, but an open wound is an open door.

Yeah, BTA is back under a rock again.
I guess they go where they want and do what they want. Nothing wrong with that just wish I could make sure that he is alright. My Clownfish still has nothing to do with him
I have two pictures up on both sides of the tank.
