I was wondering if they could also be filter feeders too? He looks fine during night but that is when he mostly comes out and during the day he is only half way out. He is still moving and I have had him for awhile now like a month or 2. I have been trying to feed him Krill cause that is what the lfs has been feeding him but now he hasn't esten close to 2 weeks now. Some times he is way in the back of my 75 with about 125# of LR so I cann't reachhim and now he is out and he still wont eat. My lights are 2 175 15k MH with 2 atinic VHO.

The light is more important than any direct feeding IMO,IME. Sometimes my BTA's don't eat directly by me for 2 months, though I do try to give them something every couple of weeks.

thomas is right, they do feed off the light for the most part. but they also are filter feeders. i haven't had any problem feeding krill to mine. maybe you could try silversides and see if that'll encourage him to eat.

THX for the replies guys but I'm sry to say that he died less then a week ago. He was tucked way in the back in a cave where he got very little light and it was hard for me to feed him by hand. I figured that I'll wait a bit longer and keep reading on a few of these guys. From what I have read the bubble tip is easier to keep then most. Is that right? If not then which would you recommend?
