I bought a BTA in march, and it was bleached.....
Here it is in march... It hides under the rock most of the time

Here it is in early may.....It is starting to come out from the bottom of the
rock now.

Late May...... Now it is on top of the rock all the time.

It is definately coming around, my BTA really took a beating when I switched from PC lighting to halides in early April. Now it too is out in the open more, more color...had totally turned white, but still not its rich burgundy color. See attached photo's. First one, obvious rich color, and the second one with halides almost 2 months later. I helped mine around with feeding it squid, mysis, and silversides twice weekly. Good luck to yours. It really looks like it is on the mend.

Mine obviously did for 19 months. It was one of the first things I bought when I set my tank up. I had 384w of pc lighting. 13 hours a day. It stayed up close to the lighting. Funny thing, when I changed to my lighting now, 834w, it never changed positions, just got completely white and considerably smaller. I only occasionally fed it too. When it bleached out....within a week, I was told to feed it small, but meaty foods twice weekly until it started to regain its color, then cut down on the feedings to once weekly....what I do now.

When I bought mine, I honestly didn't do much research on the lighting requirements. Mine did really well. Is this the norm? Not sure. I do know that it changed from a red, green color to maroon color with only pc lighting. Now that the halides are on, it is back to a red/green color just not as vibrant as when I bought it. I am hoping it comes around to the really red with green highlights per say when it adjusts to the lights.
