I have a BTA and alls it does is go behind the rockwork. What can I do to prevent this?

Let it go where it wants to. You will stress it if you move it a lot. They like to be able to hide in a cave. So maybe you can duplicate that in an area where you can see it well and see if it will stay there. Generally, it will go where it wants and there is little you can do about it.
