!!!!!Bubble Algae!!!!!

First week of cycle...lots of bubble algae...and a anonome?!!? Something seems wrong with this picture. Remove the anonome before it dies...remove all the bubble algae you can during the cycle. Maybe even remove individual rocks and scrape the bubble algae off...then rinse it well and replace. No way you should have a anonome in a cycling tank.:thinking:

I had a similar situation last week, I took a plastic clear tube hose created a suction and "vacuumed" them out, I was able to do it without breaking any, the ones that stuck i used the end of the tube to scrape it off it didnt break, but if it did the spores would remain in the tube. It has worked for me so far.

like suggested, you can break em and suck em out. If you use flex tubing just take apart a ball point pen and use that to pop and scrape the bubbles. The jury is still our on this stuff. Some people think its bad to break the bubble and some think it doesn't matter.
Most anemeons don't live longer then a month in captivity. I think its like 90% die in the first few months. People buy em because they think there going to do the Nemo thing. It doesn't work like that yet most LFS make a killing off it.....literally.
