put some live rock rubble in my refugium a week or two ago and today i noticed one piece had bubble algae on it. i removed the offending piece and now am wondering how to rid myself of the algae on it. should i let the piece dry out for a few days, or scub it. i dont want to put it back in with my system until its gone for sure i have never had a single piece of bubble algae in my tank and dont want to start.
how long till this rock is ok to put it back in

Simple. You already removed the contaminated rock, just take a par of tweezers and gently remove the bubbles. The bubble are kind of like little glass beads- well to me at least. Get a bucket and mix a high salinity of water. take the rock and let sit in the bucket and scrub the area of contamination in the water. Then take some tank water and in another bucket with a lid. let the rock sit in the bucket of tank water if a power head or aerator and cover it for a week or so. This will keep help keep the live rock alive and rebuild and clean off any die off replace water in a week or so and place with tank water. Check the rock for any more break outs and if all is well put back in the sump. This is the way we cured my friends rock that had bubble algae on it. If you pop it the spores will spread into the sump and tank, then you’ll have a bigger problem on your hands. You got the first step done.
