bubble algea

have been noticing bubble algeao showing up on 1 of my LR pieces .. someone told me to turn the LR upsidedown, that it would die in the sand, any merit to this? or should i toss the LR , pull it out by hand? LFS doesnt have emeralds at the moment , so looking for whatever i can do to help in the meantime

Emerald would be my first option.
Second option is to pull the rock out of the water and then pull the bubble off. You don't want to pull it off under water because if you pop the bubble you will release spores through out your tank.
