bubble coral questions

I bought a green bubble coral a couple days ago.

It has only blown up and been "fully bubbled" once. At other times it is "half bubbled" and "un-bubbled" (sorry...I don't know how else to explain it)

Is it typical that it is not "fully bubbled" most of the time? or is it still acclimating?

What are your water paremeters and how old is the tank? Is this the first coral you have put into this tank or do you have others?

PH? ALK? Calcium? Lights? How much flow does it get? These do not like to get blown about. How many days ago? It could just need some acclamation time. What are you doing to get the nitrates down?
What about lights what do you have?

I read that they don't like much flow...so I placed it where there is little.
it's been 1 day now

you really need to get those trates down and they inflate on and off. unless the flesh is off or sliding of the coral its alive.

nitrates and phosphates are huge for corals. The 5 most important tests for a reef tank is Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium, phophate, and Nitrate. If those levels are ok then your corals should be ok as well. Also try to feed him if his tentacles come out. I feed 1 krill or 1 silverside once a week or so. I thought mine was open all the way but when i fed him the next day he was huge!!!
